What we do to help men in Wales

During Men’s Health Awareness Month, we want to tell you about how we support men in Wales.

We provide dedicated support for young men

We have projects that focus on supporting young men.  For example, in Rhondda Cynon Taff we have a young men’s housing project.  Here, young men learn life skills that will allow them to have a brighter future.

We teach boys and young men about healthy relationships.

The Spectrum project works in schools across Wales and teach about healthy relationships.  This helps pupils, teachers, and parents/carers understand how to stay safe and develop healthy relationships.

We help men affected by social isolation and loneliness

The Men’s Sheds Cymru project works with hundreds of Men across Wales, helping them re-engage with society and battle social isolation through creating opportunities to be involved in activities such as woodwork, gardening etc.

We support male victims of domestic abuse:

We have dedicated support workers in Swansea, Neath Port Talbot and Torfaen who support male victims of domestic abuse.

They provide support that helps men explore their experiences and develop coping strategies that may include working closely with other social services, police and the courts.

We train professionals to be able to better help male victims of domestic abuse

Our training services team deliver training to professionals in Wales on how best to support male survivors of domestic abuse.
