(7th December 2021, Pensarn…) Leading domestic abuse and housing support organisation, Hafan Cymru, is thrilled to welcome TV Presenter, Journalist and BAFTA Cymru nominee, Ruth Dodsworth, as its new Patron. Ruth will help promote Hafan Cymru’s vital work supporting people who experience domestic abuse.
Ruth’s role is essential. As Hafan Cymru’s Patron, she’ll be helping to encourage other victims of domestic abuse to come forward and seek advice and support to create a brighter, safer future. This is key to Hafan Cymru’s work and Ruth’s personal experience plays an important part in the partnership.
Sian Morgan, Chief Executive, Hafan Cymru said:
“We’re thrilled to be working with Ruth. As someone who truly understands that anyone can find themselves in a domestic abuse situation, we couldn’t ask for a more fitting person to work alongside us.
“Ruth’s honesty and integrity regarding her personal situation have inspired many people to speak up when they may not have done otherwise. It’s vital we help people understand domestic abuse better: the triggers and the impact it has on individuals and families living through the experience – and the support everyone can reach, too. Ruth is as passionate as we are about improving this awareness and understanding.”
Ruth Dodsworth, New Patron for Hafan Cymru, said:
“I’m proud to be working with Hafan Cymru to help increase awareness of domestic abuse. Through first-hand experience, I understand how isolating it can be – it’s critical that anyone who finds themselves in this situation knows that they are not alone”.
