This course is an introduction to the impact of violence against women, domestic abuse and sexual violence (VAWDASV) for people with co-existing multiple support needs. It builds understanding of the importance of anti-discriminatory practices when working with individuals who have experienced VAWDASV and have co-existing multiple support needs. It also teaches how to support them.
The course looks specifically at the impact of mental health, substance misuse, homelessness/housing problems, exploitation, poverty and the criminal justice system.
Course Aims
- Recognise the varied co-existing support needs for individuals who experience VAWDASV
- Develop techniques to treat support needs equally
- Develop knowledge on supporting individuals experiencing VAWDASV with complex needs.
